PRECISION HEALTH AND INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE DOCTOR

SPECIAL INTEREST IN INTEGRATIVE ONCOLOGY (Integrative cancer care)

Dr Emma Davies is an accomplished healthcare professional with an extensive 10-year tenure as a doctor within the NHS and worked within the field of surgical oncology over the last 5 years.

Dr Davies trained at King's College London, where she earned her undergraduate degree in medicine (MBBS) and she pursued an intercalated BSc in human nutrition (iBSc), which deepened her understanding of the impact of nutrition on overall health.

In 2018 she qualified as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and has solidified her knowledge in surgical oncology over the last 5 years where she was a Research Fellow at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research. During this time, she worked both as a surgical registrar in the hospital and a clinical research fellow in the laboratory. She has made significant research contributions, publishing her findings in renowned peer-reviewed journals, served as the first author for a textbook chapter and has presented her research internationally. She was also awarded a competitive Research Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons which enabled her to undertake an innovative research project, co-running a phase I/II clinical trial in surgical oncology involving translational research.

On the background of her clinical and research experience, Dr Davies is extremely passionate about delivering a whole person approach to patient care and emphasizes the importance of utilizing evidence-based integrative oncology within cancer care. When a close family member was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, she realised there was a gap in the system for integrative support and embarked on a personal and professional journey into integrative oncology where she found her true passion. As an integrative oncology doctor, she aims to work alongside the extended medical team to offer supportive care, including physical, emotional, and psychosocial care, promoting optimal quality of life throughout their cancer journey.

Areas of special interest:

  • Integrative oncology/integrative cancer care

    • Please note that I am an integrative medicine doctor, not an oncologist, and I would always aim to work with your extended medical team to provide additional care and support.

how to book your integrative oncology consultation

Please contact our integrative cancer care clinic coordinator, Jody Middleton, on jody@synthesisclinic.co.uk.

If you have other professionals apart from your oncology team involved in your care, you will need to notify us and discuss this with our clinic coordinator before booking in. It is essential that you are consciously prepared to make some nutrition and lifestyle changes before contacting the clinic and to invest time and effort into this approach with our support, as it is not a quick fix.
